Hiranyikara Spa - CERRADO

I was expecting a classy exclusively gay spa but it was run down and definitely poor value for money. The pool was overrun with children & families, during my 3 hour 'treatment' for $140 the masseur was more often outside the room than in, & it ended in the usual 'happy ending' (bit of an oxymoron). On the bright side my husband enjoyed his massage with a nice sexy guy who seemed to have some idea of what he was doing.

Hiranyikara Spa is a bit out of the way, but at least it gets you out of the noise and grime that is Phuket and when you call to make a booking in advance they do offer to pick you up from your hotel. It is located on side street off Kathu's main road surrounded and a little hidden by big trees. The facilities are clean and pleasant. The court yard area with pool are very tranquil and relaxing. I chose one of the 3-hour packages which included body scrub, milk bath and full body massage. FANTASTIC! The therapist was amazingly good (and cute) with perfect decorum and excellent skills. Don't expect anything other than a proper spa treatment though. It is a bit pricey, but well worth the extra money. Will definitely go back.
